ROHM's inverter control ICs utilize a high precision frequency design for greater efficiency. A wide range (0% - 100%) burst light adjustment function and low noise analog light adjustment mode make mixed light adjustment possible. In addition, the output can be completely turned OFF, contributing to greater energy savings and longer life.
Long life and a broad light adjustment range
Utilizing a burst-type light adjustment method (intermittent oscillation) broadens the range (0% - 100%), while a system that shuts down the output completely during power OFF was integrated to prolong lamp life.
Multi-lamp IC synchronization operation function eliminates inter-lamp interference
Synchronizing operations is as simple as connecting resistors between the ICs. In addition, inverter substrate design for full output in the same phase is simplified due to elimination of electric potential differences between transformer outputs.
High precision frequency design improves efficiency and safety
Conventional systems require a frequency precision of ±5% to maximize the capability of the transformer and realize an efficiency of 90% or greater. ROHM products feature a tolerance of ±2.5%, enabling smaller transformers to be used.

The industry’s most advanced (0.13µm) process was used to achieve an ultra-low internal drive voltage of 1.5V - ideal for a wide range of devices, from notebook computers to conventional monitors.

ROHM' s high voltage resistance constant current drivers feature high current handling capability, highly efficient operation (85%+), and allow individual control of the brightness at each of the 8 built-in channels. The result is optimized contrast and visibility with reduced power consumption

A newly developed LCD drive voltage generator circuit is built in, drastically reducing power consumption. In addition, the specialized design eliminates the need for external components, making display possible via 3-line connection to a microcontroller.

MCF18 series

A lower internal resistance lessens the amount of heat generated, reducing power loss, while a current handling capability of 4A makes it possible to use large current circuits in the vicinity of the power supply. These optimized features make ROHM filters highly suited for noise countermeasures on IC power supply lines and in video equipment.
